Speech Pathology


Speech pathologists work with people with communication or swallowing difficulties.

Areas of support:
*Developing understanding and use of language
*Saying speech sounds accurately
*Using alternative forms of communication including key word sign, communication books and communication devices
*Social skills, play skills and behaviour
*Eating and drinking safely
*Fluency (stuttering)
*Voice (e.g. increasing volume)

Therapy services are integrated within school programs and may include working:
*Alongside teachers and educational support staff in classrooms
*With individuals or groups of students
*On whole school strategies that support participation and inclusion
